How to clean your Viva Beads

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Microfiber cloths
  • Water
  • Laundry detergent
  • Small soft-bristled brush or toothbrush
  1. Step 1

Wipe your Viva Beads jewellery gently with a dry lint-free, soft microfiber textured cloth–for general maintenance and/or light cleaning–to remove debris such as dust. Although polymer clay typically withstands staining, Viva Beads jewellery may need additional cleaning to remove debris such as dirt, perfume/cologne or skin oils, make-up etc clinging to the polymer beads or any other surfaces of the jewellery. Go to Step 2, to rinse away dirt or Step 3 to clean your Viva Beads jewellery more thoroughly.

  2. Step 2

Rinse your Viva Beads with a microfiber cloth and hot water. Dry completely with another microfiber cloth.

  3. Step 3

Place one or more drops of laundry detergent on a small-bristled brush or toothbrush, depending on the size of the area (one bead or the entire jewellery piece) that you’re cleaning, and gently scrub your Viva Beads, other beads and/or jewellery findings to remove any dirt. Add additional drops as necessary. Once finished, rinse to remove the detergent residue and wipe with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.

The word “Viva” means a salute to life. Viva Beads was created by two
mothers who set out to make a better life for themselves and their
families. Jill Manzara, a single mum of two, and Lori Mottlowitz, a
mother of four girls, discovered an existing artisan technique called
“caning”. Similar to the layering techniques used in the making of
Venetian Glass, they applied this craft to polymer clay to create their
range of original and vibrant handmade beaded jewellery. Viva Beads are
handmade from smooth polymer clay that is layered individually to
create each distinctive pattern. Hand rolled, baked and then cooled,
the beads are then incorporated in to an array of wonderful designs.
